Regarded as a cradle of Vietnam culture - The Red River delta is best known for its handicraft villages and traditional seasonal festivals. We offer you the unique opportunity to see the real rural life of Vietnamese peasants living in these handicraft villages. This tour is also interesting for those who are interested in Buddies philosophy.
Itinerary
PRG-1 (4 hours) : BAT TRANG CERAMIC VILLAGE
- BAT TRANG: Pick up at the hotel and transfer to the riverside village of Bat Trang Village, where distinctive ceramics are made and used throughout the delta region for over 500 years. The vitality of this village is still blown up by the hundreds of pottery kilns on fire day and night. We stroll around various cottage industries and watch craftsmen forming, painting and glazing their products in traditional ways. The trip ends after arrival in Hanoi.

PRG-2 (4 hours): VAN PHUC SILK VILLAGE
- VAN PHUC, a silk village is a great place to silk cloth being produced on the loom. There is a showroom where you can buy silk by the meter, much more exciting that buying it in the shops! On this half-day excursion from Hanoi you’ll be picked up at 08:00 and head to the nearby village of Van Phuc. You’ll travel in an air-conditioned vehicle, accompanied by an English-speaking guide.
- Renowned for centuries for its silk production and self-sufficiency, the village has recently seen a revival of interest in its craft as the demand for silk has surged both domestically and internationally.
- When you arrive, your guide will show you around the village, stopping to visit the families for whom silk production is their traditional work. You’ll also see the shrines of the village where the first masters are worshipped.
Hear a presentation from a group making silk, learning about the process from the planting of mulberry trees to the processing of silk thread taken from boiled cocoons. PRG-3 (Full day): DUONG LAM ANCIENT VILLAGE
- 08:00 AM: Our driver & tour guide will pick you up at your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter, then travel west of Hanoi to visit Duong Lam village, a purely agricultural village of the Northern Red River delta where still preserve many hundred-year-old houses. It will be your unique experience as you walk along tiny ancient alleys; visit Mong Phu temple in Mong Phu hamlet - the only hamlet whose original village entrance gate remains intact, dedicated to national heroes. Have some talks with the locals in their ancient houses by visiting the ancient houses of Mr. Lam, Mr. Ha, and Mr. Huyen. Enjoy your special lunch with Vietnamese foods in an ancient house.
- PM: After resting, we continue driving to visit Mia Pagoda (another hamlet in Duong Lam village), is built in the 15th century and admire 287 statues of all sizes, among with are famous sculpture such as the statue of Buddha in the Himalayas and the statues of the Eight Vajra Deities. Then visit Ngo Quyen temple and Phung Hung temple, places dedicated to two national heroes Ngo Quyen and Phung Hung. Driving back Hanoi.

We arrange shuttle bus (29 or 35 seaters) to pick up visitor from hotels in Hanoi Old Quarter area (in Hanoi) or 1st district (in HCM city) . Pick up time is vary for each tour, every morning. The operator will inform you exact time. You are recommended to have breakfast check out and be ready at hotel’s lobby.
Pick up request at Hanoi Airport is not available, it can be handled by private car only, and shuttle bus could not pick up or drop off you there.
Pick up request at Hanoi train station (Sapa arrival) is not available, as you arrive early at 5:00 am from Sapa while our shuttle bus- pick up time at 7:45am. You can choose to get back at your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter or go to No. 9 Hang Huong (our office), you can leave luggage there and wait until 7:45am
If you are not in Hanoi Old Quarter Area, pick up point at Hanoi Opera House at 8:30am

Normally the taxi for pickup to meeting point and ending of the trip are not included. Be carefull when taking any taxi in Vietnam, you may get scammed. To avoid scam, you should take a taxi photo with its plate number and driver face in case of bad exprience.
