230 of the cruise ships operating on Ha Long Bay have installed Global Positioning System (GPS) equipment.

The information was released by the Quang Ninh Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on April 8th.

This is a mandatory safety regulation of the province to ensure safety for tourists when visiting Ha Long Bay during unusual weather conditions, rainstorms or dealing with any incidents.

Quang Ninh province strives to install GPS on all the over 500 cruise ships, part of the project on management and control system investment for Ha Long Bay cruise ships, with total investment of 12.2 billion VND./.
